About the Organization
Ctrl Alt Dal (registered name: CTRLALTDAL) is a nonprofit association (ideell förening) based in Mellerud, Dalsland, Sweden. We focus on gaming culture, digital creativity, and building inclusive communities — especially for young people. Through LAN events, gaming meetups, workshops, and community outreach, we create meaningful spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, and have fun together.
What We Do
From competitive tournaments to hands-on workshops and community outreach, we create experiences that connect the gaming community across Dalsland and beyond.
LAN Events & Gaming Meetups
High-energy LAN parties and local gaming meetups throughout the year, bringing the community together for weekends of gaming, socializing, and fun. Our flagship event, Bytefest, draws 200–300 participants annually.
Tournaments & Competitions
Competitive gaming across multiple titles with organized brackets for all skill levels. From casual-friendly tournaments to intense head-to-head competitions, there is a place for everyone at the table.
Workshops & Education
Hands-on sessions covering PC building, networking, web development, and digital creativity. We encourage knowledge sharing between generations and make technology accessible and exciting for young people.
Community & Youth Outreach
Regular game nights, youth center visits, and social gatherings that keep the community connected year-round. We create safe, welcoming spaces where young people can explore gaming and digital culture together.
Community & Collaboration
Ctrl Alt Dal actively collaborates with local communities, youth centers, cultural organizations, and event organizers across Dalsland and Västra Götaland. We believe that strong partnerships are essential for building a vibrant and sustainable gaming culture. Our volunteers contribute their time and expertise to make every event, workshop, and community initiative a success.
Whether it is participating in local cultural festivals, visiting youth centers to introduce gaming and digital culture, or organizing our own large-scale events like Bytefest, we are committed to being an active and trusted part of the community. We welcome collaboration with other associations, municipalities, and organizations that share our vision of inclusive, engaging, and creative digital culture.
Bytefest — Our Flagship Annual LAN Event
200–300 participants gather in Mellerud for one of the region's most community-driven LAN parties. Tournaments, social gaming, workshops, and a welcoming atmosphere — organized entirely by dedicated volunteers with professional ambition.
