About Ctrl Alt Dal
An officially registered nonprofit association rooted in Dalsland, Sweden — built by and for the gaming community.
Who We Are
Ctrl Alt Dal (registered name: CTRLALTDAL) is an ideell förening (nonprofit association) based in Mellerud, Dalsland, Sweden, with organization number 802551-5670. We are a registered legal entity operating with full transparency and community accountability.
We exist to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together through a shared love of gaming and digital culture. Whether you are a competitive gamer, a curious newcomer, or a parent looking for a healthy and engaged environment for your children — you are welcome here. Our association was founded with the belief that gaming is a powerful tool for connection, learning, and personal growth, and we work every day to make that vision a reality in our local community.
Our members come from across Dalsland and the surrounding regions, united by a passion for gaming and a desire to build something meaningful together. We are proud to be a volunteer-driven organization where every voice matters and every contribution makes a difference.
Our Mission
We believe gaming is more than entertainment. It is a platform for collaboration, creativity, and community. Our mission is to create meaningful and inclusive experiences in Dalsland by organizing events, workshops, and activities that connect people across generations and backgrounds.
Ctrl Alt Dal strives to be a bridge between digital culture and local community life. We want to show that gaming can be a positive force — one that brings people together, teaches valuable skills, and creates lasting friendships. From organizing large-scale LAN events like Bytefest to running intimate workshops at local youth centers, everything we do is guided by this mission.
We don't just build teams — we build community.
Youth Engagement
Youth engagement is central to everything we do. We actively work to create safe, welcoming spaces where young people can learn, compete, socialize, and express themselves through gaming and digital creativity. Our events and workshops are designed to be accessible regardless of experience level, economic background, or prior knowledge.
We regularly visit local youth centers in the Dalsland area to introduce young people to organized gaming culture and digital creativity. These visits are not just about playing games — they are about building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and showing young people that their interests in technology and gaming can lead to real skills and real opportunities.
Through our activities, we aim to give young people a sense of belonging and a positive environment where they can develop both socially and technically. We believe that investing in youth today is investing in a stronger, more connected community tomorrow.
Digital Culture & Creativity
Ctrl Alt Dal embraces the full spectrum of digital culture. Beyond competitive gaming, we promote creative expression through game design, digital art, streaming, content creation, and technology exploration. Our workshops cover everything from PC building and networking to web development and design, making digital skills accessible to anyone who wants to learn.
We encourage knowledge sharing between generations — experienced members mentor newcomers, and everyone is both a teacher and a student. This culture of mutual learning is one of our greatest strengths, and it helps ensure that the skills and enthusiasm within our community continue to grow and spread.
Community Building & Inclusivity
Inclusivity is not an afterthought — it is a founding principle. Ctrl Alt Dal is a space where everyone belongs, regardless of age, gender, background, or skill level. We actively work to create an environment free from harassment and discrimination, with clear community guidelines and a zero-tolerance policy for toxic behavior.
We organize regular community meetups, social gaming nights, and informal gatherings that keep our members connected throughout the year. These events are just as important as our larger initiatives — they are the fabric that holds our community together and ensures that Ctrl Alt Dal is more than just an organization; it is a family.
We also collaborate with local communities, cultural organizations, municipalities, and other associations in Dalsland and Västra Götaland to strengthen the broader community. Partnerships and collaboration are essential to our work, and we are always open to new opportunities to connect and contribute.
Structure & Governance
As a registered ideell förening, Ctrl Alt Dal (CTRLALTDAL) operates under a democratic structure with elected board members and open annual meetings. Members have a direct voice in the direction of the organization, and decisions are made collectively through transparent processes.
This structure ensures that the association remains community-led and serves the interests of its members, not outside commercial interests. Our board members and volunteers dedicate their time and energy to running the organization with professionalism and integrity, while maintaining the grassroots spirit that makes Ctrl Alt Dal special.
All of our events and activities are organized by volunteers who share a passion for gaming and community. We operate with professional ambition — striving for quality and reliability in everything we do — while remaining true to our nonprofit mission and values.
